Hi, all.

I need information about H2S protection method.
I know there are some corrosion inhibitors.
What are they and how to use them?

I also heard there are some special pipeline for H2S protection. If you know it, please let me know what kind of pipe are used and what kind of protection method are used for pipe?

Most importantly, where can I get information such as "price" or price comparison?

Thank you.

There is H2S corrosion and there is H2S cracking. For the former take a look around this site:

for the latter, consult ISO 15156 and European Federation Of Corrosion publications 16 and 17.

For chemical inhibition, consult European Federation Of Corrosion publication 39.

What pressure, and if mixed, what percentage H2S and in what other fluid?

Sour gas is often transported in carbon steel pipelines. Corrision inhibitors may be injected. A rational discussion requires more details.

around here low pressure h2s gas is run through driscol plastic pipe, compressor locations are corrosion monitored

The LLE plant in Wyoming uses Inconel in there hot, high pressure, high H2S lines.

NACE has some guidelines based on H2S partial pressure in NACE MR0175/ISO 15156

Every refinery I've worked at (3) uses regular carbon steel piping for H2S. However, it is usually stress relieved (PWHT) to prevent stress induced cracking/corrosion.
