I need to do some flat pattern work, and would prefer to do it native in Catia. Can anyone please tell me which license you use to do flat pattern work?

I'm specifically looking for something similar to the "develop" function in Catia V4. I already understand that the sheetmetal "unfold" function is only used for ruled surfaces, so I want to clarify upfront that I'm aware, and not looking to use that functionality. However, I have increasing customer requirements for developments and flat patterns, and I'm now getting Catia specific requests. (as I normally use another CAD program)

Thanks in advance.

Have a look at Composite Design (P3)

The DL1 Developed shapes licence is the V5 equivilent for the V4 version with an important restriction. V5 ruled surfaces only. There are two other main options P3 composites as itsmyjob states or a CAA partner product such as CATBlank from FTI neither are cheap.

There is a rumor (from a DS engineer but even he will only believe it when he sees it) that double curvature flatening will appear in a develop licence at R17.

PeterGuy -

This license not only exists, but there is already a beta version circulating amongst Catia users. I found out about it the same day you responded, and have been tracking it down.

Are you by any chance a rogue developer, PeterGuy? The part about "believing it only when he sees it" strikes me as odd, because I've seen the module, and the output. I have a baseline product that I've compared output to, and according to what little data I have, it works flawlessly...

Not a rogue developer.

The conversation with the DS engineers was several months ago and he was involved with the FSS workbench and thus not directly involved with the develop license. I have not seen any product "Beta" or otherwise for R17 athough I have been told that R17 has started to escape, I presume this is what they were on about.
