Hi,

I've come to ask about what materials databases you guys use (if you do). Up until now I've been using Granta materials - but my license has now expired so I thought I'd see if there's anything else about.

The Granta one is the best. ASM International has a combination of items (Handbooks Online, Alloy Center, Micrograph Database, and Failure Analysis Database) available over the Internet that are good too.

Thanks for your replies! I'll take a look at these.

No database is all-embracing. There are always strengths and weaknesses. So it is important to identify what type of information you need. I have always used CAMPUS ( because my particular interest revolves around properties determined by standard test methods. However, I can't pretend the database is the best for pursuing design equations.
