A boss is standard socket weld fitting with details from B16.11

Olets are vendor design.

A boss is usually thought of as a straight circular protusion, which can have a parallel hole or is sometimes a solid block. A "sockolet" is simply another form of what is officially called an "integrally reinforced welded fitting". This add extra wall thickness in a shaped manner to compensate for the loss of the wall thickness of the branch connection.

The vendor has certified it and hence you don't need to do any calculations to B 31.3 or 31.4 etc to show that your connection doesn't need extra re-inforcement.

A boss is sometimes used to connect a pipe or support without drilling a hole in the main pipe

MSS Sp 97 give a max thickness which then tapers down. Basically thickness is whatever your vendor says is suitable.

Ask the vendor, but when even bonney forge who invented these things don't give min dimensions then you might not find it listed....

Pipe wall thickness look at the line list.
