What's difference between resistance, stress and strength?

I have very problems trying to know this difference, in the norm these terms are mentioned many times, please could you help me?

Pretty basic questions...

Resistance is usually expressed as a force e.g Newtons or N
Stress is usually expressed as a pressure or force per unit area e.g N per m2 or Pascal's Pa
Strength is often the maximum stress a material can accept before it yields or breaks. Ductile materials e.g steel it's the yield stress you normally use. Brittle materials e.g glass might be the Ultimate stress where it breaks.

Resistance can be understood as the amount of force required to push a body or a fluid or electrons through an opening, or a pipe, or wire.
Stress is a measurement of the force one element of material applies to adjacent elements of the same body. For example when a force is applied to a fixed object, it creates internal stress, and the object deforms, also called strain.
Strength would the maximum force the object can absorb without failure.

Not quite true for electrical resistance, which is the ratio of the electromotive force to the amount of current supplied, and has units of ohms.
