Can someone tell me what book they read (and loved) when they first learn about structural construction?

The Tower and the Bridge by Billington. It's not really about construction, but it poses an interesting idea about how structure can be art.

Can't remember the book's name but the course. It was a practical structures course with an afternoon session for computing. Prof didn't take time to know anyone (he was beyond retirement age) so I had a friend yell "Here' when role was called. I was out hunting squirrels.

The 3 Little Pigs-my first course in Construction Materials I guess. By the time I was through reading it, I had gotten hungry so I read Green Eggs and Ham.

"The Steel Skeleton", by Baker, Volumes 1 and 2... from decades back.

Still got those? If so, wanna sell 'em to me when you hang up your calculator? I can't find the pair anyplace for a reasonable price.

I have no intention of hanging up my calculator... I'll consider leaving them in my will...
