Tow do you determine the width of a wheel after the diameter is determined on a car? Is there certain guidelines that must be followed to make sure the tire will stay on? Where are they?

You should look at the standars, you can find in TRA(tire rim association year book)find a specification that apply to you and follow the given dimentions.
