Hi, I was just wondering if anyone can give me a general range of values for the factor of safety regarding wheel studs?

I am looking at general cars, like daily commuter cars that people drive everyday. Specifically trucks and SUVs.

I would guess that it would have to be enough so the car could still drive if one or two studs broke.

Thanks for the help!

But driving with broken studs can affect fatigue life of other components.

I reckon so!!! One of THE most common failures I have seen is in 1/2 ton Cheby 4x4 with the OEM 7/16" wheel studs...man, they even break on the street with the big tires and wheels!
