.....the fun never ends...

Ok...using a BOM, selecting option to use indented assy. and show numbering.

When adding a balloon, is there a way to reference the assembly item number and NOT the part number?

If you are using the SW BOM, you have to turn off the "show numbering" in the BOM properties. If you need the numbers under the indented BOM and pull the assembly Item number I don't see a link for this. Also like this in SW08.

Try selecting something that is part of the assembly only, such as an assembly level sketch.
