We're currently redrawing all our old parts in NX, and one of the parts has an external 2"BSP thread and an internal 1 1/4th" BSP.
I'm trying to adapt the nx502_Threaded_Hole_Standard.xml file to add the 1 1/4th internal (since the biggest one in there is 1") but I can't seem to find all the necessary data (such as relief depth and diameter, hole and thread depth, etc.).
Can anyone point me in the right direction for this?

Can't seem to edit the post above, so:

Modifying the xml file worked and, although it needed some creativity to fill in the blanks, I did manage to make the hole I wanted.

Now, for the external thread, I tried adding BSP in the thd_english.dat file, but that doesn't seem to do anything, did I do it the wrong way, or do I have to import the file somewhere?

This is what I added:

BSP,0

# BSP Thread
# Data from Google
# ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Name Major Minor Pitch Tap Drill Pipe Depth
# Dia. Dia. Dia. Dia.
# (internal (external
# threads) threads)
# (in) (in) (in) (in) (in) (in)
# ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

JHTH, I did find that website, but it doesn't give me all the data I need

As stated before, I'm still looking for such as relief depth and diameter, hole and thread depth and many others, which are not provided on that website.

Thanks for the reply though.

I didn't find any reference to them either with a brief search through the internet and Machinery's Handbook, but looking at the xml file in Excel and graphing e.g. the Relief Depth against the Major Diameter gives a near-perfect linear correlation of R.D. = 0.4973 x M.D.

Just looked at hole depth, too, which comes out at H.D. = 2.0254M.D. - 0.0261 with R²=0.9995

Hopefully this will get you on your way,

Jon
