Hi! I have been looking for subsea positions with large Oil and Gas companies but found it quite difficult to find exactly what I am looking for in the UK or Europe, what are the job searching strategies that you use? How do you find the right role for you?

If not aleady employed in the oil sector get yorself involved with the oil and gas cmpanies located in scotland espeacially reputable contracting companies ....you will soon find out what its all about and if its for you.

The subsea industry is buoyant at the moment. I would suggest you contact some of the recruiters who specialise in the oil and gas industry. I am getting at least one call a week offering me work at the moment from these guys. Also put your details on linked in. I must have had over twenty recruiters contact me through that website.

Wow thanks, rather than go through recruiters are there any job sites that you use? I am reluctant to get involved with recruiters at this stage! However it would be good to know which recruiters you would recommend?

As hydromarine said there are heaps of them.

As for websites you could try going to each company website and clicking on the 'careers' section. Try operators, service companies, consultants and see what comes up.

s1jobs.com is not too bad, but I think you will need to search a few of them. Google is your best bet I think.

You'll find many of the jobs on boards are posted by recruitment agencies, not directly by the companies, hence you'd be as well contacting some recruiters.

is pretty good, as are any of the others that pop up in Google.

There are lots (read 1000+) of vacancies in Aberdeen at present. The grapevine is full of companies looking for good people.
