Where Is Priority Coming From?

Under Task Infomation/General, my tasks all seem to have a Priority of 500. I didn't set it to that.

- What is Priority?
and
- Why do my tasks show 500 when I didn't specify anything?

I looked up "priority" in Help and it didn't return a topic with that in the title.

"500" is the default value. Set the actual priority to what makes sense to you.

The additional thing to know is that the Priority field setting is used to assist MS Project with automatic resource leveling.
