I am Working on a project, and i am wanting to use a 3.45:1 or 4:1 gears, but want to use magnetic gears to reduce friction. They shafts will be spinning anywhere from 50,000-80,000 rpm. Any suggestions?

Magnomatics is the most established player:

However, I doubt magnetic gearing will work at that rpm. There are a lot of complicated parts in a magnetic gear and trying to keep everything balanced will be challenging.

Thanks for the reply, i will have to talk with them. As for balance i think it should be fine since the shafts will be held sturdy with bearings, i just need it to transfer rotational energy. the small side will be free spinning

I spoke with the owner of magnomatics and was informed that they do not currently have any off the shelf gears and i would need anywhere from 15,000-20,000$ for a prototype. And well, thats alot of money to dump for a prototype that has not even gone into my prototype.

Any other suggestions? Could i possibly make it myself with an aluminum wheel and have my cnc shop cut and place neodymium magnets into the ends?

I am really trying to get my prototype onto the market but these gears are holding me back.
