Like I said in the previous thread,I just finished my university year 1. I was admitted into the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department. Now I have to choose my major between Bioengineering(it is not biomed or biotech, it includes both of them but less professional), Chemical Engineering, and Chemical and Environmental Engineering. I may want to work in the USA, Australia, Germany or Japan after I graduate. Some people tell me to choose the job I like or interested in. I have to admit that my dream is to become a doctor or a dentist( obviously I failed)[rednose]. I got a decent grade in Chemistry and Biology, and at the same time I have an equal interest in both chemical engineering or bioengineering, which is the reason why it's so hard for me to make a choice. So the only aspect I care about right now is my future career. The salary is an easy stat to find, I kinda want to know if is there still demand Chem engineering or bioengineer?( is it easy to find a job)The working environment and durability(Does the job have constant demand in the future)or when major you would recommend base on your experience and knowledge, it really help me a lot(literally decided my future)[glasses][glasses][glasses]

'k, I'll adapt the previous advice ... "do what makes you happy, out of the viable/available options"

a line for a song I like ...
"why can't you reach for a closer dream,
the reason you fail is you go to extremes".

can you work is those various countries ?

there'll always be a demand for any sort of engineer ... whether that demand is near you or not appealing for other reasons is a different question !?

and there'll be a temporal function of job demand (ie demand will change over time and over place).

No one knows what will be in demand in 10 years, nor for how long, nor where.
One thing you should do now is develop a foundation that will allow you to adapt and move occupation has needed.

I'd've thought there were a lot of interesting things happening in bio-fuels.

Ok I am sorry for double posting, I am new to the forum, and the deadline of major declaration is actually today, so it's quite urgent to me lol, I won't do it next time

So what did you decide to do and why?

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.
