Hello,
I would like to create a fully automatic electro-pneumatic spot welder similar to ,
and I need an advice regarding a type of pneumatic cylinder to be used to move welding head. Can I use a single-acting spring-return type of cylinder, or it is better to use double-acting one for this purpose? I would prefer to use single-acting flat cylinder as Festo EZH-2,5/9-20-B (164992), if it is powerful enough to manage 200-300 gr welding head. Stroke should be about 10 mm, bore 4-6 mm, I suppose. Double-acting cylinder alike SMC CDJPB10-30D could be used as alternative, I guess.
I intend to use PLC controller + HMI panel to control the machine.
