Ok I used solidworks animator add in to make a quick 20 second animation. Looks great on screen when I run the animation in SWX, but when I try to save as an .avi file and use Solidworks screen as the "buffer" option, it goes thru the motions and seems to be creating the file, but when I try and play the file in Media player it's 20 seconds of recorded white screen? If I use the photoworks "buffer" option instead of the solidwork screen option I get the desired result when saving an .avi but it takes much longer to make and it's more than I am looking for. Any ideas ? (running SWX 2007 sp0)

Yeah, upgrade from SP0 with 2007--that's very buggy with Animator. If you're only trying to capture the non-rendered frames I'm not sure you'll get it to work with SP0. In fact, be very careful, because Animator can actually destroy your assembly file in that version (I had MANY hours of wasted time on that SP with Animator). So that's the best advice I've got.

Maybe this will work--just before trying to make the recording, drag your timeline through the Animation very slowly--make sure the assembly keeps up with the motion. Then bring it back to the start. This helps Animator process what's going on a bit in advance and normally decreases such problems for me. However, you may be hitting a "wall" with graphics or RAM power such that this won't help.
