Why are these view toggles greyed out!?

I gave an assembly to a coworker and he made some drawings and gave it back. Now almost all of the view toggles are greyed out. I really needed to mate to an axis, but I was unable to turn on the view of axes. What causes this greying out?

Go to View and deselect Hide all types.

See if large assembly mode is activated.

Ah hah, thank you! Going to view and deselecting hide all types did it. I figured it would be something simple. Seems like "Hide All Types" would be a good addition to the on-screen hide/show items menu.

You can set a keyboard shortcut for the Hide All Types function.

It should also appear in the "heads up" view tool bar as a pair of glasses with a drop down menu arrow next to it. From there you can select what you want to show/hide.
