Why no improvement in frames utility?

Is there any improvement to the Frames utility in ST3, because I just used it in ST2 and there are still the same bugs as in V20.
If you have to add or remove frame components the whole thing still seems to lose its way, and I just ended up deleting the frame and starting again. Fortunately it was a new one and didn't affect any existing stuff.
And why still can't it handle all joints correctly when you have 2 or more frames that join into each other?
Sometimes it will not allow you to do the whole frame as one so you have to use several frames.
It still will not create seperate components when 2 lines are co-linear and end-point connected, but just merges them into one continuous member - even when they are broken by another member.
Or am I missing something in the settings.

ST3 does have some listed enhancements to Frames in their What's New document. I don't use frames very often, but some of them seem like much needed enhancements to make frames actually useful/usable.

If you have a webkey, you can go to GTAC and download the What's New document.

There is also a video of it on youtube.

I can't get to the GTAC site as the powers that be will not let me have login details.
Youtube is banned here so I'll look at home.
Thanks.

Thanks Scott,
I did get a look at a video on youtube (piping & frames enhancements) that shows there is a setting on the frame options dialog to merge or split co-linear elements.
That was one thing I was looking for.
The rest of the video shows there will also be much greater flexibilty in defining section positioning.
What I have found is that if you have to create separate frames, then the later ones will trim to the earlier ones, but you cannot get the earlier ones to trim to later ones.
I suppose that's quite logical really, given history-based modelling (synchronous frames maybe??).
I was also looking for general improvements in updating, redefining sections, adding and removing members etc.
At the moment it is very hit-and-miss whether the frame will update correctly, and once things do go wrong they are a real pain to put right.

beachcomber,

So you know, GTAC just changed how access to their site works. Some companies block it for their employees because they could access downloads and other stuff. Now you can get a limited webkey with just your SoldToID without the CAD Admin having to worry.

Unfortunately I'm not an employee, I'm just a contractor (freelance?) , so I don't think anyone here would be too happy if I used their SoldToID. I could ask but in big companies its usually more trouble than its worth.
I would like to have access to stuff like this, but there is no way that I know of to get it unless you have your own license of SE.
It would be great if I could apply to Siemens for a 'guest' or 'personal' login.

Yeah, there are a lot of people out there that could benefit. I think that was part of the motivation to open GTAC up more the last couple months. It would be nice if it could be expanded a bit more to cover people in your situation.

Mark

P.S. you still might get someone at your company to check out the new rules. They may think its now safe enough to let contractor (freelance) people get access.
