I'm afraid I already know the answer to this question. Is it possible to open Wildfire 3 files in Wildfire 2 as ProE files?

You make it sound like they're alone in that respect. Actually, I'm a little curious about PTC's cross release compatibility scheme (never having seen it first hand). Consider the scenario ...

_ I'm using WF2 and recieve a WF3 part file.

_ It's my understanding that if I have obtained the necessary .dll(s) I can open the WF3 .prt file.

_ I can see (?) the existing feature tree but cannot edit existing features.

_ I can add features to the model.

_ I can send the file back, they can merge my features (or simply open?) and they have a part that is still fully parametric and editable, will lose no references, etc.?

Is that at all accurate?
