Dear All

I modeled a tower in PV Elite. For wind calculation according to ASCE 2010, I can't change the importance factor and the value is 1. I searched ASCE 7-10 and according to different categories and also according to the site condition the importance factor is 1.15 in my case. Does anyone know what's wrong? Is it something wrong with my PV Elite or anything else?

Thanks in Advance

In ASCE 7-10, the importance factor was factored into the tabulated wind speeds. So if you use the proper ASCE 7-10 wind speed, importance factor is already included and doesn't have to be added again.

Dear Stephen

Thank you for your response. Can you please send me the reference table for wind speed in ASCE 7-10?

Dear haamid.njd

You can try this website
I believe it only works for locations in the United States. Also, be aware that States or local governments may have adopted laws/regulations with design wind speeds different than what ASCE 7 has determined.
