I am designing an observation tower that includes a columns, beams, platform, and roof. I need to calculate the wind load for the structure. However, I have not found specific sections addressing wind load for observation towers in the National Building Code of Canada (NBC) or the British Columbia Building Code (BCBC). Could you provide guidance or alternative methods for determining the wind load on this type of structure?

I would likely consider it similar to a free standing obstruction, in combination with the provisions for wind on electrical and telelcommunications towers. There's not always an exact solution for these. Consider your location, is ice build-up on the support structure a concern?

There is a section in the commentary for open (exposed) structures. You can calculate the load on every beam and column.
