Wind Loads on Building MWFRS

I have a relatively large (500'x400'x 25' tall) single-story building where the client is looking to put a 50'x50' penthouse structure on the roof. The penthouse will be fairly far away (more than 50') from any roof edge. I'm checking the existing building bracing for the increased wind loads due to the penthouse. I'm using Chapter 27 (ASCE 7) to develop the MWFRS wind loads on the existing building. My question is, do I need to use the wind loads developed per Chapter 29 and apply them to the existing building lateral braces? My thought is no, I only use Chapter 29 when designing the penthouse structure. I would use the Chapter 27 wind loads applied to the penthouse structure to check the existing building bracing. Not sure how others have done it in the past?

Any snow accumulation issues?

So strange to see the singularity approaching while the entire planet is rapidly turning into a hellscape. -John Coates

Yes, will have snow drift that I am accounting for, but was curious on thoughts about the wind load.
