I am attempting to learn Robot Structural Analysis. I am trying to understand how the automatic wind simulator works. I see that you can set either the pressure or wind velocity then build a profile with velocity coefficients. I use ASCE 7-10 so I am curious if anyone knows which coefficient I should apply to build the proper profile in RSA. Is it the Kz values from the tables? Is it a combination of Kz, Kd, Kzt? For lattice frameworks and trussed towers, can I ignore the Cf values that are applied to the formula? My understanding is that those coefficients come from wind tunnel testing and are calibrated to include shielding effects in them. If anyone can provide insight, I would appreciate it.
