wiring on/off switch to electric motor

I have a single phase, 115V electric motor that is connected to a fuel pump/junction box as shown in the attached wiring diagram on the top left. Normally they are shipped with the three leads (black, white, and brown) hanging loosely so the customer can install the motor and connect wiring themselves.

I'm interested in having the motor used in a different application (as a portable oil transfer pump), so it would not be be wired to a box. Instead, it would have a 3-prong connector and a on/off toggle switch. How would I connect these two things to the current motor? What would I need? I'm not very electrically inclined so I'd appreciate any input.

Connect black and white to the supply, leave brown capped off, make sure you have a frame earth connection for safety (unless it's a double-insulated device).

Ok, so the black and white wires would be spliced to the black/white on extension cord, then the green ground from extension cord could be connected to metal ground on frame motor is mounted too. So then how do i wire on/off switch into the circuit?

All wiring must conform with all Building/Fire codes, all Federal, State and local codes, National Electric Code (NFPA 70), NFPA 30, Automotive and Marine Safety Code, (NFPA 30A) and NFPA 395 codes and regulations.
Hire an electrician with experience with hazardous locations.
