Hello,
I'm looking for any third party comparisons (white papers, etc.) that might have been done for comparing Wonderware's System Platform to Inductive Automation's Ignition. The use case will be for large water and wastewater plant monitoring & control. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Who can afford to write a white paper on this kind of stuff? What's the pay-off? I'm in the camp that views white papers as cloaked advertisements. That doesn't mean their worthless, one just has to take its purpose into account.

If you want to take opionions for what they're worth, then look at commentary on Ignition here:

Take it with a grain of salt but here in south east USA, GE iFIX has the greatest market penetration in the water/wastewater field. Wonderware's market share here has been declining due to being 25% more expensive than their competition. In my experience all major brands of HMI/SCADA software work equally well.

Thanks all for the responses.

DanW, I had seen the commentary you pointed me to during the course of my initial search, and it looks promising for IA.

djs, I'm also in the southeast USA. Can you point me to anything that would support your statement that WW has been losing market share? I tend to feel the same, but would like to validate.

Any other thoughts are welcome.
Thanks

I don't have anything official, just the number of projects we get. When I started in Florida 18 years ago, U would see a WW project every several months. Now its maybe a year or more between WW projects. Most of those are legacy projects where the owner already has WW.
