Hi,
Can any one guide me about how representate horizontal holddowns as those required on external decks on plan drawings?

Thanks.

Usually see it drawn as an additional line drawn alongside the deck/floor framing and a DTTZ connector or embedded strap at each end of this additional line. Don't have any examples at the moment, let me see if I can find one.

Here is one example of DTT's drawn on plans, I would normally prefer a line drawn between the anchors showing the rod connection, but these were not drawn that way.

Figures R507.9.2(1) and R507.9.2(2) from 2018 IRC might be helpful as well.

Thanks a lot, ChorasDen

Any idea when the holddown is a coiled strap??

I could only see that working if the bottom of the deck joist (and ledger) is flush with the bottom of the floor system, and there's no wall beneath. That would give me some pause, as that's usually a cantilever situation, and most of the typical deck details go out the window then anyway. If this is a flush beam supporting the floor, then it could work.
