wood stud wall infill in existing brick wall

current project includes a deteriorating multi-wythe brick end wall in a two story 1890s building (all exterior walls are brick). the first floor portion of the wall was removed to open up the space to an adjoining one story addition, and was improperly shored, causing irreperable damage.
owner does not want to incur the cost of reconstructing the brick wall, a stud wall infill is proposed, leaving approximately 4ft of brick "return" on the endwall.
any suggestions on a system to tie the existing brick wall segment to the new stud wall for lateral load transfer?

What ever you do, you are just filling the opening with s panel that will shrink and hopefully will not add loads.

Unless it is a big opening (height, width) use some anchors for anchorage to the existing walls and floors

If the original building shows any distress, that will mean more than a cosmetic remodeling.

If it was originally an external wall, it is probably loadbearing and could definitely need a structural engineer.

Wood bracing brick? The wood frame is not stiff enough to brace brick. I would use steel.
If I'm picturing this right, it sounds like you need a steel collector (top plate) to span from brick wing wall to other end of brick wall. You can then infill below with a wood stud wall.
Also, concretemasonry is right, if it was once exterior you most likely have siginificant load from above.

the roof and floor framing is parallel to the wall in question, so there are no significant vertical loads, with the exception of T & C forces due to overturning.
