Does anyone know about How is working in Dubai(Abu Dabhi) or Spain (Madrid. I need to know about salaries level, life conditions, etc. My brother in law is a project engineer (electrical) and he always works for oil industry here in Venezuela. He has 15 years of experience. He want to know what is the better option for work.

Salaries in Dubai may not be more than half of that in Madrid, thanks to being close to cities like Mumbai and Chennai, notoriously able to supply cheap skilled-workers.

Ciao.

Oil companies typically have some difficulty getting people to the Middle East, especially in case of wife and children. The ones who do go primarily go with the intention to work hard during a few years maximum and earn some good cash to spend it later in a better place. Coming from Venezuela, why would your brother in law consider any other place to go to than Spain?

I've been to both, and can offer a few things:

1. Abu Dhabi is not in Dubai, it is next to it in the Emirates, and a lot less fun.

2. Dubai and Madrid are both good, but Madrid is probably a better place if you are younger.

3. Wages can be a lot higher in Abu Dhabi than Madrid, it depends what you are doing and for who.

My brother in law works and lives in Dubai with his family.
They're having a great time.
I've been to visit twice. The standard of living is very high.
Speaking to other ex-pats out there, none of them would consider returning to the UK if at all possible. They just couldn't get anything like the same standard of life.
And the weather is hot hot hot.
