Hey all,

I am having trouble finding a way to work out the wind load on a GRP stack. The Stack is 25meters high and 1500mm diameter. If anyone could help me and talk me through this it would be great. The location of the stack is in Hull in England.

Thank you for your time.

Hey Thanks For your message. It says I have to pay for that spreadsheets. I can work it out if I can get all the correct calculations and be talked through it please.

Doesn't the UK have a wind loading code? I wouldn't be using the ASCE code for wind loading in another country.

Wind loading for the UK I believe comes under Eurocode 1 part 1-4. Theres also BS6399 part 2. Im not 100% sure on structures as the lighting and transmission masts I used to deal with were covered by EN40 (which is based heavily on Eurocodes).

EN40 used wind speeds converted from BS6399.
