Hi Guys,
There is one new concern arised that I have to submit separate WPS for the welding of pipe with the valve ie.Butt weld joint connection of pipe and fitting.
Welding have to done with A-790-s32750(DUPLEX STAINLESS STEEL PIPE)and A182F55 (forged valve).I have submitted the WPS with P no 10H-10H and get approved.
But the new concerns raised as the submitted WPS for the pipe to pipe only and I have to submit separate WPS for pipe to forged valve.

Is there any requirement on the subjected issue.Hope any one can help me in this case.

Under ASME IX there is no need to write a WPS for pipe to forging. You should not specify pipe to pipe just P-No to P-No.

Ya Thanks for the reply..
Is there any particular concern on the pre heat of the duplex steel. The current WPS is having thickness 5.54 mm(2") and pre heat is mentioned as 20degree c.
while considering the joint with forging, any changes on the pre heat will consider?

Duplex steels are rarely preheated. Interpass temp is usually maxed at 250 - 300F.
NACE MR0103 App. D has some info on duplex welding if you have access.
