Dear Experts,

Your advise and guidance required to resolve below mentioned scenario.

Background:

As per Client specification, Each Material Grade has to be qualified for welder qualification so in this case we have only free issue material of 12"(323.8 mm O.D) and SCH 120 (25.4mm) thickness, Material Grade is SA335 Gr.P22 (P-5A). Two welders assigned to welding the test coupon in 6G position by using WPS (GTAW+SMAW). We marked 0 DEG and180 DEG in the test coupon for easy traceability of welder work for Left side and Right Side. Circumference of total pipe is 1017.2 mm in which Left Side circumferene comprises of Length 508.6 mm and similarly Right-side circumference of length 508.6 mm . Both welders make GTAW and SMAW process. Visual Inspection done , RT done and Mechanical bend test also done each test are okay.

As per ASME Sec IX , Minimum Weld Length should be 150 mm tested and shall contain each weld circumference but also code allow us to test the welder either Volumetric or Mechanical test. We undergo all testing including VT, RT and Side bend as per ASME Sec IX.

Question:

As per ASME Sec IX Clause QW-306 , QW-302.2 and Table QW-452.1(b) Note-3 Welders WQT are, okay? Is it acceptable?

Please note, We have only 12 Inch SCH 120 pipe and contraint of material availability and time.
