When writing a WPS / PQR will the P-Number that is use for the WPS / PQR cover all groups and alloys under that P-Number or do we have to write seperate WPS /PQR's for each group and alloy. Ex. P44 covers Hastelloy B2, C22, C276. Can we write P44 To P44 and cover all these alloys.

A PQR qualified with a P44 material will support WPS's for other P44 materials as long as the other essential variables are satisfied.

So as long as our Filler materials are the same throught the welding process of the P44 even though our P44 materials change we should be covered

This appears to be an ASME IX question, but a change in filler metal F#, or A# is an essential variable. Same for a change in P#, or any other essential or supplementary essential variable.

IIRC, P43 is a 'gimmie' from P44. Worth researching.

Many nickel-chrome-moly alloys were listed in both P43 and P44 (which included nickel - moly alloys). About 15 years ago the ASME Code placed the ni-cr-mo alloys listed under P44 into P43 where they belonged leaving the ni-mo alloys in P44.

Hello,

Can somebody help me

It is possible the weldability between P-No 1 (API 5L-pipe) to P-No 15E (WP91-elbow) ??

Tanks in advance.

Possible, but not recommended. Especially without a lot of experience with P-No. 15E materials.
