I would appreciate any references or direction to examples of drainfield design for a .4 MGD WWTP. I have the standard water and wastewater tecnology manuals but no specifics.

Location: Florida

Thank you for any insight.

If you have a Waste Water Treatment Plant, why do you need a drainfield? The local receiving body, stream or river, can accept effluent that meets EPA regulations. If you want tertiary treatment, I suggest a shallow pond or marsh bed with a sand/gravel dike at the perimeter for outflows.

What questions do you have? A 400,000 GPD drainfield is pretty large and complex. Take a look at squirtonsite.com for pressure distribution system software

In Virginia we use 0.25 of the measured Ksat value of the drainfield site. 3.0 GPD/SqFt is not unheard of in SCL soil.
Still, that's a big drainfield.
