Hi,
I have a previous qualified pqr of X65 to X65 in 6G(Uphill) position Single V Groove.
Based on that, can i qualify this procedure to weld on X65 to X52 during production?
As I've looked at Table 4.8 of AWS D1.1 (2010), it states that
"Any Group III Steel to the Same or Any Other Group III Steel"
WPS Base Material allowed by PQR "Steels shall be of the same material specification, grade/type and minimum yield strength as the Steels listed in the PQR"
Is there any other way around this clause that permits me to weld for lower strength group material?
Or alternatively, do I need to do PQT for dissimilar groups, X65#X52?
