My GDTP certification expired this past Monday. Unlike in the past, I did not get an (early) notification that it would expire and renewal forms and instructions. I have the e-mail address of the contact I used in 2013. But I got a "not deliverable" response to a message to him. I searched the ASME wed-site but could not find anything related to renewals. Does anyone have the current contact or a wed-site to get information or forms?

Here is the first email I got from ASME regarding the upcoming change:

Our records indicate that you have previously purchased and/or currently have a personnel certification from ASME. We thank you for choosing ASME, as the leader in standards and certification in your chosen area.

This email is to inform you of an important improvement: ASME is introducing a new personnel certification management system called "ASME-PC Connect." ASME-PC Connect will replace the current paper applications with an online application system.

As is currently the case, email will remain the primary means of communication on AMSE Personnel Certification. To help us better serve you:

Please provide us with your preferred email address if it is other than the one used in this email. You may contact ASME’s Customer Care at 1.800.843.2763 or CustomerCare@asme.org to update your preferred email address. If you are changing your email address, please do so by July 1, 2016.
ASME-PC Connect is expected to launch in early July. Effective June 30th, 2016, ASME will no longer accept paper personnel certification applications. If you are a current certificate holder, you will receive an email on how to recertify and maintain your certification.

As always, you can review this information by visiting go.ASME.org/Personnel-Certification and selecting your respective program.

Thank you.

When did you received these emails?

First--the warning- in June and second in July (end of July) ---this year.

Thanks. Do you have the email address?

Certified Sr. GD&T Professional

Ahh. So this did not come from his direct email address that I was using.

I did call the Customer Care number and paid the $134 to renew. Do you know if they still send the paper certification?

No idea.
The published list should suffice for accreditation (if you really need one). Usually, the knowledge is enough.
The paper is ..............waste of money....in my opinion...... specially if the company you are working for does not pay for it[nosmiley]

I have a business teaching in the region I live in and the ASME certificate give me credibility.

I certified for the first time back in early August when they were first implementing the new system (I'll save you all from my ranting about that headache). I have yet to get a paper certificate. Here is what I was told about that:

"Unfortunately, the actual credential production ‘engine’ is still in development, but with that typed there is a work around. Please use the sign-on screen of ASME-PC Connect and the Find Certificate Holder button below the sign in area. Following the on screen directions you would be able to locate your current certification record and see the program, certificate id and certificate time terms. You will also be able to use the ‘download’ icon to the right of your record to print an ‘unofficial’ image of your certification.

Once ASME has the credential production system in place, official credentials will be mailed to the respective individuals.

Matthew Carnino"

That email was from mid-October and I haven't seen anything since. I would suggest you just print your own instead of holding your breath for the official one in the mail.

Thanks for the update. I got onto the asme-pcconnect site and entered my work experience and am now waiting for the contacts to respond.

Thanks everyone for your responses.

"Unfortunately, the actual credential production ‘engine’ is still in development..."
Yeah, unfortunately, a test that actually represents the 2009 standard is also "still in development."
