I have a "European" drawing made in 2013 with Datum Feature Symbols attached to theoretical center planes and axis lines. Y14.5-2009 does not allow this - must be physical features. There is no statements/notes on the drawing telling what document(s) use to interpret the GDT. I assume the current revision of ISO 1101 is in effect. I have no copies of ISO GDT standards, which I know are very numerous , to refer to. I think ISO allowed this datum practice in the distant past but is now aligned with Y14.5 conventions. Can anyone tell me if this is acceptable before I inform our (potential) customer of the discrepancy.
