Does anyone know the specs for this spline? on a drop arm. trying to repair one. Thank you

ZF 1 5/8 x 36 ZGN 725 -Prep Bore is 35.50

Yes - I have to cut it - I think we can reverse engineer it using our CMM

I would buy a new part, cut off the portion with the spline and then weld it to whatever it is you are making.

Unfortunately, can do this has to be machined from billet - I think we can figure out using our CMM

Let me guess - this is going to be a titanium part or some other alloy that the normal unit doesn't use.

If that is the case, you might as well replace the shaft on the gear box this is to be installed on with one that has a spline you can get a broach for.

If not, is it just marketing to say "billet"?

If you are able to accurately RE the spline with your CMM just go for it. Being tapered, the fit shouldn't be a big issue. Machine it to within 0.2 mm of finished size then check fit the mating component before the finishing cuts.
