"AR=b^2/S" Help

"AR=b^2/S" I was in physics once but could you tell me what the letters stand for? This has to do with winglets I beleive from a while back.

Its a bit more generic as it applies to any airfoil planform.

AR = Aspect Ratio
b = Span of the planform
S = Area of the planform
