Hey guys I need to develop a lifting mechanism for a platform that holds approximately 75lbs. I have pictured attached. The platform needs to have a travel range of 1 inch. I have looked into scissor lifts but can't find anything suitable.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Sorry guys I may have not been clear. What I need to lift up is the silver tray. There is a Tank that sits on it and it has to move via some mechanism up 1 inch and then back down. Its part of the operation of the machine.

Thanks!

For 75 pounds, I would consider a simple eccentric cam and 4 sliders at the corners, or rack and pinion setup.

4 small pneumatic cylinders, one per corner. Lifting less than 20 lbs each, should not be difficult or expensive to source. Solenoid valves to control.

The thing that makes me nervous about leveling wedges is that they'll go up for sure, but absent a lot of grease, they may not come down nicely.

Not the neatest and most elegant, but almost always the cheapest four point lift mechanism is four inverted U's of roller chain, looped over sprockets at the ends of long shafts, synchronized by a long loop of roller chain and two more sprockets. Hang bars or weights from the free ends of the vertical chains to keep them from fouling something. Ugly but effective, and all the components are generic and cheap. Seems overkill for such a short lift, but take the trouble to cost it out anyway.

I would use an inflatable patches or panels or seals to do the maneuvering. We used a lot of this type in our manufacturing operation as clamps.
The first ones were sections of fire hose.

Here are a links to a couple of sites to show what's available.

With 50 bucks and 10 minutes I could put together a lift to meet this incredibly detailed spec in the local camping shop. Presumably the OP has some other requirements that he hasn't bothered to tell us.
