Hi there,
I am willing to simulate a geotechnical-related problem. Where I want to simulate a slope. In this problem analysis, I am eager to use the Mohr Culomb model. In the Mohr-Cuolomb failure criteria, we use cohesion(c') and Angle of internal friction (Φ'). I want these two properties to vary with strain rate. It means that when the slope tries to fail, the soil goes to deformation. So the strength of the soil will reduce due to deformation. It's one kind of strength reduction technique. In the strength reduction method, we reduce strength for every particle but in this process, I want to reduce the strength only for the specific zone that will go for deformation by varying the properties. How can I approach this? Do I need to write any kind of subroutine? If so, then which subroutine I need to write? I have attached the photo for better understanding. Thank you.

Check in the documentation where you can use field variables for the MC model. Those variables can be made solution-dependent using the USDFLD subroutine. Otherwise, you would need full UMAT.
