Table UW-12 column mention that angle joint can be design per U-2g for CAT B and C joints. Never mentions Category A. 1. So the question is does code allow angle joint CAT A for shell plate? 2. And if we do what kind of volumetric NDE and value of joint efficiency to be used? Thank You

i think you right. The code doesnt specify how much low temp we can use this material at. The note e basically say as long as it meet toughness requirement of applicable section then this stress value is usable. Thanks.

i cannot find any information from asme code regarding lowest permissible temp for any given material to be used for vessel fabrication. Maximum temperature is available on asme ii. Does lowest permissible temp depend solely on charpy impact or is it somewhere in asme code that i missed out.
