Hello Everyone,
I have used 9 1/4" - 5 ACME-2G thread for the 6" Fig 2202 and I have verified the strength with the calculations.
Right now I am looking for the sealing hub dimensions and sizes. here, I have selected the ID 108mm based on the pipe schedule for sub, any idea about sealing hub...
There are few manufacturers who produce 6” fig 2202 in india. Sofar i have had a benchmarking and identified few dimensions based on some logical methods. Moreover i have done some cross verification of those details with competitors. But the problem is with the threads and sealing portions of...
Hi. Thanks for your reply…
I require some engineering details for design this hammer union. Since we have a requirement for one of our customers with this bigger hammer union. I have selected the basic dimensions based on the benchmarking of various similar sizes and pressure ratings of market...
Hello Everyone,
I am facing an issue related to hammer union Female sub thread identification for a higher size as well pressure rating.
I require 6" Fig 2202 Sour Service Female Sub. Can anyone suggest the ACME Thread size for the same.
right now I have selected the 6 11/16 - 5 ACME 2G as...
Hi Hanson,
if we want to discuss i need to study your thread completely and think related to that in terms of design. since i am not into gate valve design... related to general design factors, we can discuss... unfortunately i have got struck into API 6A auditing work which is scheduled in...
Hanson,
I had a quick review and i have found, attached photos is not the latest standard edition of API 6X.
it may be a draft copy / previous edition which cannot be used. also the underlined sentence is given in the annex as an informative in the new edition which is clearly stated as...
Vinay,
But there is no scope for the test flange of 6B flange in the spec API 6A.
also wherever you are deviating the standard requirement, you cannot be monogrammed... as per this statement, for 6B test flange, you are deviating the requirement however you are modifying the blind flange by...
hi Vinay,
As per API 6A Clause 3.1.6, blind flanges may be used as a test flange along with test and gauge connector port. however API 6A doesn't have the 6B test flanges, but it still have the scope for the blind flanges.

Hello Mr.Vinay,
For Monogramming as per API 6A, the equipment has to meet the complete requirement of the specification whichever is applicable for the equipment.
Unless the Specification allows to deviate the specific requirement, if you are deviating the same then API Monogram cannot be...
Thank You jmec87...
In the project datasheet, mentioned min. temp is for operating/process temperature.
i hope now i can proceed for design based on the material strength (Charpy Impact test will do based on the statement from API 6A section 6.3.2.3.2 para 3) by qualifying the selected...
Hi Everyone,
I am looking for your help to evaluate the 6A chokes with lower temperature.
API 6A temperature standards are defined the lowest temperature which go no further than -60°C (-76°F).
here i have a problem with a project which is having -101°C as minimum temperature for chokes that...
Hari Mech,
as per your image, the lower value should not go below 6.75 which means already the the lower limit value is fixed (Which is φ6.75)...
second thing, based on the component you can be fixed your upper limit as you want....
So generally the value with tolerance will be like φ6.75...
if you want to evaluate the selected material whether it will work in the low temperature or not, then you need to do impact test for the minimum temperature for the all the materials like body / bonnet material, stem material, bolting materials etc.
if it is related to valve performance, you...
