There are number of methods which can be employed for estimation of the areal rainfall including: •The Arithmetic average method, •Weighted average method •Thiessen polygon method. •Kriging techniques. etc can any one explain the weighted average method. its formula and solved example if possible? 

am interested to do trend analysis of rainfall, run-off and temperature using parametric test. my question is .is it essential to have normally distributed data or not? can i directly apply regression analysis and then check for significance and non significance
