Thank you all for the help! @3DDave this is also my understanding of the system.
@Doug Hunter , @mfgenggear it seems it is becoming too complex for what my initial plan was. Do you have something I can refer to? at least for the FBDs and TFs? Or a software I can use to calculate the torque?
Thank you!
I'm trying to build a differential wrist mechanism used in robotic arms.
My intention is to spin the driven gear around it's own axis and around the pinion gears axis. I assume that if the driven gear has a weight on it then it will require more torque to rotate around the pinion axis...
I hope this picture can clarify. Imagine the gears are supported on each end by a bearing on the holes on the frame. The t link in the middle helps supporting the structure and has bearings inside, also the two pinion gears can rotate indipendently from each other. When the pinion gears rotate...
I am trying to determine the torque required by the two pinion bevel gears to move the bigger bevel gear (when the pinion gears rotate in the same direction), like in a differential mechanism. The driven bevel gear has a load on its end. Being the driven bevel gear horizontal it exerts the...
The design intent is to fasten 2 extra components to the threaded holes.
They need to be perpendicular to the top and bottom faces of the component.

Hi everyone,
What control should I add to have a thickness of 4mm?
Is the flatness control good enough to keep it close to 4 mm?https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=175bd768-c2de-4a74-9fae-0797d53542b4&file=Capture2.png
Hi everyone,
How do you determine the transmitted torque in a 2 pulley system with timing belt?
I know the torque of the motor and the speed of the 2 pulleys.
Hi everyone,
I am trying to design a 2 pulley system with a timing belt. The small pulley will be driven by a Nema 17 stepper motor, 0.4 Nm, speed 1000 rpm.
The largest pulley will be attached to a lead screw for driving a load and rotate at a speed of 250 rpm.
- I determined the power of...
Burunduk,
I got confused, I thought that it was enough to define a basic angular dimension.
Thank you again for the help.

I mistaken the two surfaces, I should have put it on the surface where the hole is located.
I made all the changes that you suggested. Thank you for your help.

Hi Dave,
Yes I see, I mistakened the surface where the datum A was referenced. The drawing as it is, shows that edge to be part only of datum B.
Thank you.
