You can take the 8 hour PE at a testing center at pretty much any point now. Not that this answers your question but it may solve your problem: just take and pass the PE!
Has anyone here had any experience with being the EOR on shipping container projects? Specifically in the US under the IBC?
I recently had a client reach out about wanting to do a commercial project. It sounds about the easiest form of a shipping container project - one 8’ x 40’ container with...
Tomfh’s situation is similar to mine. I have a client wanting to tie his old zipline that ran tree to tree to his new pavilion - tree to wood post. I appreciate the feedback.
Can someone help explain section E3 of AISC 360-10. It seems counterintuitive to me. The critical compression stress is a function of the elastic buckling stress which is a function of the unbraced length. As the unbraced length decreases, the elastic buckling increases which in turn decreases...

Thanks in advance.

I am working with a client (USA) to get approval for a product he has developed. The next step is for him to get an ICC ESR report for the product so it can be approved nation wide. Does anyone have an experience going through the process of obtaining an ICC ESR approval? Any help would be...
My recommendation is to print out the NCEES exam specification. Use the CERM to study the items specifically listed in the specification. You can waste a lot of time trying to study everything in the CERM. Other than the CERM I only had the design codes and that was all I needed.

I believe there is Minimum Footing Width table in the IRC. I am not aware of any provisions to reduce bearing capacity. However, like you, every geotech report I have seen recommends limiting the footing width to no less than 18”/24”. While what you’re friend is designing for may be code...
