Speaking for transmission level IEDs at least, as lower end IEDs mean reduced price levels, meaning reduced capability and more basic technology:
To a certain extent it can. Binary input and output modules do have self supervision or watchdog supervision and detecting if a particular module...
Depends where you ask ^_^
Nah, development has been shared between Baden and Västerås for a while now, only the actual product sales are centralized in Västerås. System sales is mostly from Baden, especially big projects.
I think the single PCM600 with the separate connectivity packages is the best you're going to get. Since although the Sweden / Switzerland split in transmission level protection products is gone, there is still the division between transmission and distribution (Finland) protection products. And...
You can find the software here:

And actually it is called CAP316 in some places (CAP2_316), noticed it when running the installer. Didn't even realize that before.
The 316 series is not in PCM600 (since RE*316 is not Relion, too old essentially and in a legacy phase).
CAP316 doesn't exist, but CAP540/505 was/is used for the Swedish / Finish relays (500 series), while the RE*316 came from Switzerland.
I can check tomorrow if I have the RE*316 software...
True from a thermal point of view, it's about thermal mass, environmental conditions, the pre fault / overload temperature and duration of the overload. Even so, treating the transformer as an uniform object that heats and cools down as a block is at best incorrect (and incidentally a reason I2t...
In the end they all do the same though, measure if the I0 is above the set threshold value. The IED doesn't really care if it's a core balance CT, neutral point CT or internal / external 3I0 summation.
Actually it doesn't show 50N in that table. Maybe 67 was intended as non time delayed and non...
64 is measured with a single phase CT on a earthing point, 51N is through 3I0, 51G I've only seen in ANSI (ok, it IS ANSI, but I haven't sene it used in IEC), but I've been told it refers to a neutral point CT again. So to me 64 = 51G. But 51N is different, measurements wise anyway. Completely...
The Reyrolle one is now Siemens I believe.
Still looking for the BBC manual, but I found the ASEA one.
One downside / no English. French, Italian or German, take your pick. Reason being the relay was mostly sold in those markets.
