Dear Forum,

Please help me to find an explicit formula to calculate the time for RT exposure (NDT of piping).
I want to build that formula in excel. There is a tool for example "RT toolkit" for android, however i want an explicit formula and table of parameters that go in that formula - whatever constants are applicable depending the source or film density... searched all over the web and still struggle.

Best Regards and thank you so much.

In the Level III RT class then you learned how to calculate this.
Why is non-NDT professional worried about this at all?

Hi EdStainless ... i would like to have a basic understanding in the fields that I directly or indirectly encounter.
Somebody tells me we need whatever hours to shoot this and i would like to learn why and how....

I also do remember your very educative responses to my posts / questions previously - thank you once again for that.

Best Regards

mariolucas,
Go to www.ndt.net and then "Forum" and ask your question.
Much better chance of getting the info you require,
Cheers,
Shane

The Exposure time is only one part of the time necessary to perform the inspection. The bulk of the time is set-up and tear down of radiation barriers, joint layout, film exposure, re-shots, etc.
