The customer you're looking for is a called a "steel mini-mill" or "steel micro-mill".
The problem you're going to run into, is they're most likely much better at buying steel than you are.
Any idea what the steel's specified to, if anything? If you don't have steel certifications, then your "slabs" are probably not usable for anything but scrap metal. Depending how good you are at selling it, your reqion, and the condition of the steel you should be able get somewhere between...
Getting through 1 rebar can take somewhere between 1 - 6 hrs depending on tools used to get through it, experience and luck! Wet Diamond Coring through rebar is typically the fastest way to get through it, it also has the highest initial cost and creates a smooth surface that epoxy does not...
If there are large quantities of testing companies, but a shortage of testing equipment availability, why not import and sell large quantities of foreign testing equipment? Ordering large quantities of foreign equipment will surely reduce per unit costs. Then the only challenge is selling! If...
I would go with post installed anchors using Hilti HY200 epoxy personally. May not be the cheapest, but I trust it, and have some on the shelf down the hall from me!
he didn't say he wanted to form it then galvanize, he said form and galvanize.
If galvanized before forming then A653
If galvanized after forming then A1011
Does the bolt need to be a socket head? A standard hex head bolt or a flange bolt would help your situation considerably. I assume there is not much load going through this connection.
With as inexpensive as Garage door openers can be purchased for, I doubt you could purchase the individual components that you're in search of for any cheaper than you could purchase the opener for- then just throw out the components you don't need.
As tbuelna mentioned- if you provide a more...
I'm not sure what all your constraints are, but it sounds like you're describing a garage door opener. A garage door opener would be available chain driven or lead screw driven. Any reason this wouldn't work for your application?
My vote is a low RPM DC rotisserie motor. Something spinning 2-5 RPM should have decent power and low wattage requirement and could be hooked up directly to a solar module. There would be no need to program it, and no need to create a solar tracker, as it would rotate as long as the sun is...
Probably a bad batch of screws, not uncommon at all. The self drilling tips are hardened, if the QC isn't there when it's manufactured, the screw becomes too brittle. Try ordering a different screw or from a different vender.
My apology, I was thinking purlin. Its been a while since I've seen the detail, but for girts I recall a post going floor to roof at mid-bay - load from the top of the column had to make it though the roof diaphragm. Doing so allowed for use of cold formed girts.
Through plates may be a good option. detailed on the last page of this linked doc:

I see home inspections as nothing more than a negotiating tool after the purchase price has been agreed to. On my current home I negotiated a $1500 credit from the seller after the $350 home inspection found a handful of minor issues. Since closing I've found several bigger issues, like leaking...
