    Ground distance - mutual inductance

I have two parallel lines that have mutual inductance and this is making the impedance seen by my ground distance relay higher than it actually for a fault on the remote bus. I am wanting to expand my zone 2 to cover maybe 40% instead of 25% of the next shortest segment in order to make sure...

    EMTP-RV nonlinear L data conversion

I have modeled non-linear inductance in Matlab's SimPower package and found that to be pretty straight forward. SimPower is a pretty solid package if you have the option of using it.

Charging engineering students more for their education

This is an interesting link: http://www.payscale.com/college-education-value-2013 Is the point to lower the rate of return on an engineering degree to a point where it isn't even an attractive degree? This is on top of the fact that the U.S raised the H1-B by over 60% in a poor economy, which...

maintaining objectivism (when all about are losing their's) ...

The president can't really ram anything except maybe declare war. Congress really holds all the power.

    solution for ATPDraw Warning

You probably have to change the phase angle of your source to match your trapped charge or put in a very small impedance between the source and your trapped charge.

Fault impedance - resistive or reactive?

Why would the fault impedance be mostly reactive? Are you sure you aren't thinking about the PF of the fault current?

Fault impedance - resistive or reactive?

It would be nice if faults were purely reactive. Nothing would be burning or blowing up by the fault.

    Aspen One-Liner Scripts

I am doing some contingency analysis in ASPEN One Liner and want to write some scripts. Does anyone have some example scripts that they wouldn't mind sharing or could point me to where there is information on this?
