My friend, I did not check your file coz I was in rush, but to transfer the slab loading to supporting beam you have to define them as membrane in case on one way slab and shell system (along with meshing) in case of two way slab. After analyzing performed, you may verify the distribution of...
Maybe it has something to do with the patch you've used. Try to export a dxf file to see what comes up.

For Staad pro v8i SELECT 5 I tried many times on my friends PC running W8 but cannot be installed.
For CSI products, you can easily do so. If you're in need of patched software for W8, let me know ;)
Hi all;
Let's say we have a simple structure and we want to have one-way and two-way slab system. Should I use membrane for one-way system due to its in-plane stresses and shell elements for two-way system for out-of-plane stiffness? The matter herewith is distribution of loads from slab system...
Thanks buddy for replying
Probably I would do that; because the senior structural analyzer in our company used to do designing with SAP and I do with Staad. Upon completion of design, my RC design wasn't quite matching so I decided to dig in for reason.

Ever since am using Staad, I've faced lots of problmes; but whenever I contacted them via email, service ticket and alike I received an immediate response and proper action been taken. Perhaps Im pretty lukcy or we got a responsible customer service for west of Asia [censored]
I designed a ribbed slab floor by Staad; and when I run analysis for ribbed beams I confront the following:
1-If the design is done through GUI<Design<Concrete Im receiving message saying member size should be increased for max positive moment and design not performed.
2-However, when I do the...
